The exhibition xÆTER is the second edition of Captive Portals Kiosk segment, a video-kiosk placed in the entrance to Captive Portal run by Kristoffer Ørum, with 24/7 access, headphones and comfortable seating.
A special viewing and vernissage will be available on the 3rd of December 2025 outside Captive Portal on Fredericiagade 12B in Copenhagen. The vernissage runs from 16:30-18:30. Coffee and cocoa will be served. Be sure to bring your warm jackets and scarfs, as this is an outside only vernissage. The exhibition will run from 3rd of December till 15th of March 2026.
Through a selection of video and audio works the public exhibition xÆTER seeks to merge our notion of ÆTER with an alternate notion of X. ÆTER should be understood as the surrounding presence of the digital as something aethereal, but also physical. How do we relate to the physicality of the internet, to how data surges through hidden server rooms? How does the digitality of our lives impact not only our way of being, but love, gender and politics?
We merge ÆTER with the X. The X as a denominator for commercial collaborations on the late capitalist stage, where brands collaborate to create something more, some weird intangible value proposition. But as we see it, the collaboration in art is also forerunner for co-creation that can extrapolate new perspectives in places where artists merge in an aether of creation.
Through 11 video and audio works we wish to invite the viewer into the world of xÆTER.
The duration of the collected works lasts approximately 45 minutes.
