Mundane Monsters was an interactive digital multimedia exhibition that transformed the gallery at Epsilon Spires into a walk-through experience exploring the modern relationship between nature and culture. The installation combined digital and physical media to create humorous and inventive takes on contemporary environmental and technological themes.
The exhibition featured video projections, 3D-printed sculptures, wireless transmissions, two-dimensional works, and an augmented reality component that allowed visitors to view "monsters" inhabiting the gallery through their phone cameras. The work created an immersive environment where digital creatures appeared to coexist with physical artworks.
The installation was designed as an interactive multimedia experience that required visitors to engage with cutting-edge technology within a gallery setting. The augmented reality component allowed viewers to see additional digital layers through their smartphone cameras, revealing hidden "monsters" that existed only in the augmented space.

Mundane Monsters was presented as part of Epsilon Spires' 2022 programming, which included 68 events focused on bringing cutting-edge creative work from around the world to southern Vermont. The exhibition opening coincided with Brattleboro's monthly Gallery Walk and was followed by an outdoor screening of skateboarding and surfing documentaries.
The exhibition was noted for providing a rare opportunity to interact with cutting-edge technology in a gallery setting. The Danish Arts Foundation's support enabled the presentation of the work in Vermont, introducing international digital art practices to the local community. The project contributed to Epsilon Spires' mission of offering enriching programming of the highest quality while remaining accessible to diverse audiences.
