Disbelieving Gravity is an interactive online game created for the Net.Specific exhibition Communication Paths. Anders Bojen and Kristoffer Ørum focus on Isaac Newton’s theory of gravity and the metaphors and assumptions surrounding it. Players learn a new language through twelve game-based exercises, each designed to deliberately reinterpret established ideas and challenge conventional understanding.
The game explores how the concept of gravity is embedded in language, metaphors, and everyday actions. Players are encouraged to question the presumed truth of gravity and their own assumptions, gradually adopting a new perspective through interactive challenges.
The work also examines how digital interaction can transform learning. By engaging with the game, players experience how facts and assumed truths can be challenged, restructured, and explored in playful and experimental ways, fostering a new understanding of the world.
